Innovative Business: How to Innovate

The question after all this is quite simple: how to innovate ? There are several approaches that can be used to innovate a product, service innovation or an innovative business idea.

1. As Innovation: Thinking Outside the Box

A well-known American said it is “Think outside the box”, or “Think outside the box.” This means putting aside the paradigm or way of thinking or doing something, and see the process as a whole (not parts). For example, in the case of Microsoft and the operating system, we see this in application. A very innovative business idea had been to change cards a plastic paper to use computers. Thinking outside the box, Gates realized that he could “digitize” the holes in the card (which represents the binary code) in 0′sy 1′s in an operating system.

2. As Innovate: Unrealistic Goals

Anyone can easily achieve a goal, for example, I want to walk 100 meters. But an unrealistic goal, requires changing the mindset and create a new idea. For example, I run 10 km. Many companies like Google apply this strategy of product innovation. For example, the department having a “laboratory”, where they develop ideas that at first glance, are not profitable. This led to new ways of using the internet (new online businesses ), such as Gmail, Google Maps, and Google Docs.

3. How to Innovate: To study the user

Many innovations in products or services are given to study the behavior of the consumer, or user of the product (such as using the product). For example, Microsoft developed Windows as a GUI (Graphical User Interface). This is an operating system, visually easy to understand for the wearer, using the keyboard and mouse, and see the movements on a screen. In this way, anyone can use the system to an end: create folders, documents, files, etc.., Without requiring knowledge of computer language.

4. How to Innovate: Prototypes

Every new product is developed as a prototype. This is a tangible idea of innovation , so as to understand how it works, what does or how it works. For example, some products we see on television selling, initiated as prototypes of Styrofoam, wood, or put multiple elements in 1. This is the case of the vacuum cleaner that cuts hair (90′sy famous in 2000) This product sucked the hair and cut it without hurting and without pulling hair. The prototype was simple: a house vacuum, and a kind of scissors placed at the entrance. It was “selling the concept” to investors, to raise the money needed for the manufacture, distribution and sale of the product to the masses.
