Compliance with the PCI standard suffers from many misconceptions. The most common is that you must comply with the rules of the PCI only if you store credit card numbers. This is not the case. Many software online store accept information relating to credit cards from customers and then transmit them to
the payment gateway. The blunder lies in the transmission. If your software does this, your server and your web host must meet the PCI standard. Another misconception: The servers that perform security tests validated a security service are automatically approved by PCI. Still false. The safety test is only one element of the validation PCI. If your host does not comply with the PCI standard, you can not abide by them either – and that whatever the results of safety testing. In addition, you must meet all requirements of self-assessment questionnaire PCI / CISP. The only validation of the test does not meet all the requirements.
